Day 02 : Explore Old and New Delhi
After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi.
Old Delhi Sightseeing
Begin with Old Delhi, the former Mughal capital of Shahjahanabad. Visit Jama Masjid, the principal mosque of Old Delhi, commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, the builder of the Taj Mahal, and completed in 1656 AD.
Located at the beginning of the busy Chawri Bazar Road, the mosque is one of India’s largest and best-known mosques. Built between 1644 and 1658 during Shah Jahan’s reign, it measures approximately 80 metres in length and 27 metres in width. Its courtyard can accommodate up to 25,000 worshippers and occupies an area stated in the original itinerary as 408 square feet.
Continue to Raj Ghat, the memorial marking the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. Drive past the Red Fort from the outside. The fort served as the palace of Shah Jahan’s new capital, Shahjahanabad, and represents an important chapter in Delhi’s Mughal history.
Wander through the busy streets of Chandni Chowk, popularly known as the “Silver Street,” and enjoy a cycle-rickshaw ride through Old Delhi.
New Delhi Sightseeing
In the afternoon, explore New Delhi, which reflects the legacy of British rule. The contrast between Old and New Delhi is visible in their architecture, urban planning and lifestyles. While the walled city preserves traditional streets and historic character, New Delhi reflects a more modern urban landscape.
Visit Qutab Minar, India’s tallest stone tower, whose construction began in 1199 AD under Qutab-ud-Din Aibak and was completed by his successor and son-in-law, Iltutmish. The tower stands 72.5 metres high and has 379 steps from bottom to top. Its diameter tapers from 14.3 metres at the base to 2.7 metres at the top.
Later, visit Humayun’s Tomb, commissioned by the widow of the second Mughal Emperor, Humayun. This outstanding example of Indo-Persian architecture is considered a precursor to the Taj Mahal.
Drive past India Gate, the Parliament building and Rashtrapati Bhawan, the President’s residence.
The afternoon also allows free time to explore Delhi’s colourful and bustling bazaars for personal shopping.
Overnight stay: Hotel in Delhi.

Day 03 : Delhi to Agra
200 km · Mughal heritage · Taj Mahal
After breakfast, drive to Agra. On arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Agra came into prominence during the reign of Afghan King Sikandar Lodhi, who made it the capital of his empire. Later, in 1526 AD, Mughal Emperor Babur began shaping Agra into a city of distinctive character and beauty. The city remains closely associated with the Mughal period, when great rulers commissioned remarkable architectural masterpieces. Among these, the Taj Mahal stands out as one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture.
After breakfast, drive to Agra. On arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Visit the Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays), one of the world’s most celebrated monuments. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, during the mid-17th century, the Taj Mahal is renowned for its exquisite white marble architecture. While its beauty is impressive from every angle, the intricate marble inlay work is particularly remarkable.
Later, visit Agra Fort, an outstanding example of Mughal architecture and a former stronghold of the Mughal Empire across successive generations. Shah Jahan added impressive residential quarters and a mosque, while Aurangzeb strengthened the fort with outer ramparts. Explore its Hall of Public Audience and Royal Pavilions.
Along with its historical monuments, Agra is also known for its rich handicraft heritage, which visitors can explore in the city’s markets.
Continue to Itmad-ud-Daula, also known as the Baby Taj. Built in 1622 for Ghiyas Beg, the father of Empress Noor Jahan, wife of Emperor Jahangir, this tomb is notable for its white marble, mosaic work and delicate lattice designs. It set a precedent as the first Mughal building to feature white marble inlaid with contrasting stones. Smaller and more intimate than the Taj Mahal, it offers a serene architectural experience.
The afternoon is free for personal exploration or shopping in Agra’s colourful and bustling bazaars.

Day 04 : Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri
250 km · Historic Mughal city · Pink City
After breakfast, proceed by road to Jaipur, visiting Fatehpur Sikri en route.
Fatehpur Sikri is a deserted red sandstone city built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in the late 16th century to serve as his capital and palace complex. It was abandoned soon after construction when the local wells ran dry. Today, the city remains remarkably well preserved, with palaces, mosques and other structures that provide an insight into its former grandeur. When originally constructed, it was a town larger than London.
After sightseeing, continue your drive to Jaipur. On arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is popularly known as the Pink City, owing to the pink sandstone used in buildings within its old walled city. The city was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II (1699–1744 AD), a great warrior and astronomer.
Jaipur is notable for its planned layout, which was influenced by the Shilpa Shastra, the traditional Hindu treatise on architecture, alongside Mughal and Jain architectural influences. The city was painted pink in 1853 in honour of the visit of Prince Albert. Today, Jaipur blends its historic character with the activity of modern city life.
The afternoon is free to explore Jaipur’s colourful bazaars for personal shopping and exploration.

Day 05 : Full-Day Jaipur City Tour
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Jaipur.
Begin with Amer Fort, located approximately 11 kilometres from Jaipur. This historic fort was the former stronghold of the Kachhwaha clan of Amber and served as the capital before it was moved to Jaipur. Constructed using white marble and red sandstone, the fort is especially picturesque with Maota Lake in the foreground.
The reflection of the fort in the lake creates a striking view. An elephant ride, subject to availability, or alternatively a jeep ride, will take you up to the fortress. Once at the top, explore its extensive complex of courtyards and halls while learning about its history and royal past.
Later, visit the City Palace of Jaipur, an impressive complex featuring exquisite palaces, gardens, courtyards, decorative art and intricately carved doorways. The palace museum houses collections of rare manuscripts, armour, costumes, carpets and miniature paintings.
Continue to the adjacent Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built in 1726 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. It is one of five such observatories commissioned by him and is renowned for its astronomical instruments and their precise measurements.
Jaipur is also a shopper’s paradise. Its old-city bazaars offer a wide range of goods, including precious and semi-precious jewellery, handcrafted silver, textiles, handicrafts and antiques. For shopping enthusiasts, the city offers plenty of opportunities to discover traditional crafts and collect souvenirs.
